@Tyrel McAllister In my younger days, I wanted at one point to start a business selling novelty baseball caps, we entered the investment pitch wearing off-color hats for comedic relief and were dismissed rather rudely before we could even begin. They failed to see that our companies mainline was novelty hats, and seemed to think we were just badly dressed men!

@Account Closed That is a very sound research technique, and one that should be adopted across all forms of the internet in my humble opinion.

I suppose I am very fortunate in this regard, as my surname is in fact, Seed. Though I am not really one for gimmicks, I have a few members of the extended family by the same surname who are also interested in Real Estate. Would make a great sign pun.
@Account Closed How are the discussions going? Have you decided to utilize their services? It seems to me a dangerous proposition playing with credit, how exactly does the business model work?

How often do you find tenants give you reason to withhold damage deposits? One of my mates, who also rents out properties, has a particularly nasty tenant who is leaving his building after many years. Little to no damage has been done to the flat, and small repairs have even been taken care of by the tenant. My mate plans on keeping the Deposit out of spite; what kinds of consequences should he anticipate facing from this action?

Seed capital success stories; motivation for all the first time investors out there. Sound em out.
I began in the service industry, and worked over 3 summers while in High school in the late 70s. It wasn't easy getting financing for my first renovation (a dilapidated A-frame), but I am very fortunate that the home prices were significantly lower at the time. I found a buyer right away after a four month renovation post-secondary school, and was able to clear enough on the selling price to finance my next purchase. This was a slow method of raising initial (Seed) capital, but I am glad I didn't rush, as it paid off in spades and paved the way for many future purchases to come.

Gracious apologies, I intended for the thread to be named Seed Capital Modern Methods. Does anyone know of any method to get thread titles changed? I am relatively new to the forum.

Hello everyone, I am a mature investor from New York. i have seen quite a number of threads involving alternative sources of seed capital and I am calling out to the community. I remember my earliest investments were a real grind, having raised all of the necessary seed through years of saving and less than enjoyable labour. How has the market changed? What new methods are there now that didn't exist 40-50 years ago that facilitate the process? I hear very frequently that today's market is more difficult than markets previous, I certainly agree with this, but it has to be asked: in what ways is it now easier than before?

Someone has previously had much the same question about how best to spend their seed capital. I suppose it depends on the type of project; are you constructing a new home, or merely renovating @Barbra Thebenyane?

This thread is quite silly. I have nothing I can add that would be very constructive, but I will try my best.
I would have to say your best chance of finding quality puns & humour would be on real estate agents signage. They tend to contain catchy sayings and amusing lines.
