@Barbara Chennault really depends on the street, like is it close to Wayne State or closer to Dexter/Linwood? 

That will matter a lot

@Jay Macarus as long as your in a solid area, Bagley, Rosedale,sherwood forest, etc you will be fine but will end up paying a premium. Depending on where your work is located, areas close to Detroit may work out as well such as Southfield or Ferndale for example.
